Important rebel leader of Jaysh Al-Islam militants captured by Syrian Army in rural Damascus

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) repelled the Jaysh Al-Islam (Army of Islam) attacks at the strategic villages of Bala and Tal Sawwan on Tuesday, killing over 15 enemy combatants while restoring security to the area.


Among the 15+ militants killed inside the East Ghouta villages of Bala and Tal Sawwan, the Jaysh Al-Islam field commander, Ramah Al-‘Az, was reportedly identified among the dead by the Syrian Arab Army.

During the militant assault, the Special Mission Forces (SMF) of the Syrian Air Force Intelligence reportedly apprehended one of the top commanders of Jaysh Al-Islam at the village of Tal Sawwan on Tuesday.

“Abu Nasser Al-Barzawi” was captured by the Special Mission Forces after they infiltrated the extremist group’s front-lines.

Abu Nasser Al-Barzawi is considered one of the top commanders of Jaysh Al-Islam and integral part of their High Command in the East Ghouta region of rural Damascus.
