The United States has condemned the recent attacks in Nigeria, saying the raids on villages in northeast on August 28,in which many people were killed, was callous and unacceptable.
A press statement by US Department of States' spokesperson, John Kirby, said: "We extend our sympathies to the families and loved ones of the civilians who were killed and injured.  These recent raids are just additional examples of the horrific and indiscriminate violence that Boko Haram continues to use to terrorise civilians in northeast Nigeria and the Lake Chad Basin region".
While sympathising with the families of the bereaved, he stated: "The latest is one of many attacks, kidnapping, raids and other acts of indiscriminate violence that continue on a frequent basis in Nigeria, Chad, Niger, and Cameroon".
The statement added that the United States will continue to support the governments and people of the Lake Chad Basin region in their ongoing struggle to degrade and defeat Boko Haram.
